As part of Wisconsin Archaeology Week (May 11-19), The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley is hosting a very special lecture at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 14.
"Introduction to Wisconsin Archaeology: A Pictorial Lecture Highlighting the Importance of Earth Resources Used by Prehistoric Cultures," is being presented by Thomas C. Pleger, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Anthropology and Sociology (and Associate Dean) at UWFox.
The lecture is being held in the Barlow Planetarium on the Menasha campus. While the presentation is free and open to the public, seating is limited. Advance ticket reservations must be made in advance, by calling the Office of Continuing Education at UWFox, 920-832-2636.
The lecture is being sponsored by the Science Society of the Fox Valley, The Barlow Planetarium, the Weis Earth Science Museum (WESM), and the Wisconsin Humanities Council.
Pleger's slide lecture is to be followed by a special tour of the WESM, Wisconsin's Official Mineralogical Museum.
Free parking is available on the west side of the campus, which is located at 1478 Midway Road, Menasha.
