UWFox has announced this year’s winners of the Marilee White Instructional Academic Staff Award and the Larry White Classified Staff Award, Heather Benson and Gerald (Jerry) Van Stippen. Marilee White was a lecturer of English and Larry White was a professor of Political Science, and their namesake awards give recognition to staff members who make an impact at UWFox.
Recipients of the White awards are selected by an evaluations committee that takes nominations and reflects on aspects such as job dedication, demeanor, competency, and being an outstanding representative of fellow employees and UWFox. These honors have been awarded to members of staff who represent the Instructional Academic Staff and Classified Staff ranks at UWFox since 2000. Benson, the recipient of the Marilee White Instructional Academic Staff Award, has been an associate lecturer of English since 2005. Van Stippen, who received the Larry White Classified Staff Award, has been a member of the buildings and grounds crew since, also 2005.
This year’s White awards will be formally presented at UWFox’s Annual Awards Evening on Monday, May 12 in James W. Perry Hall. For additional information, be sure to like UWFox on Facebook and follow UWFox on Twitter.
