The Weis Earth Science Museum (WESM) is sponsoring its annual “Fox Rocks!” show on Saturday, March 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and on Sunday, March 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. “Fox Rocks!” is being held in the Student Union, Atrium and Emeritus Room at the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley, located at 1478 Midway Road in Menasha.
In addition to a number of dealers selling fossils, minerals and jewelry, the show will feature door prizes, displays, demonstrations, and continuous silent auctions. Among demonstrations are gemstone faceting and jewelry wire-wrapping. Kids will be able to take part in lots of fun activities, including button-making, face painting, and a scavenger hunt. Admission to Fox Rocks! is free.
“Fox Rocks!” is a fun family event and a great way to beat cabin fever. “Those attending can come to ‘Fox Rocks!’ and find a nice crystal to brighten these last days of winter,” said Joanne Kluessendorf, WESM director.
Admission to the WESM, the state’s official mineralogical museum, is half-price during the “Fox Rocks!”show. For more information, contact the WESM staff at 920-832-2925, or visit http://www.uwfox.uwc.edu/wesm/events.html.
