Midway Road Construction to Affect UWFox Campus
[This page is preserved for historical and reference purposes only. The information contained on it may no longer be current.]
On Friday, September 12, UWFox officials received from the City of Menasha information and details about road construction at the intersection of Midway Road and State Highway (STH) 47 (a.k.a. Appleton Road).
The following is text from the information received.
"The south side of Midway Road will be widened from Parkside Drive to a point 500 feet east of STH 47. This additional width will allow for left turn lanes in both directions on Midway Road at STH 47. New traffic signals with left turn arrows for Midway Road traffic will be installed.
Work is scheduled to start Monday, September 15. Construction traffic control barricades will also be in place Monday and will reduce Midway Road traffic to one lane in each direction. It is estimated that the main work on Midway Road will be completed by October 24.
Traffic along Midway Road within the project limits will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Very Important: There will be no left turns from Midway Road onto Appleton Road (STH 47) throughout the duration of the project. We strongly recommend alternate routes for those that would normally turn left off Midway Road at STH 47."
