Archaeologist to Speak at Barlow Planetarium

Local archeologist Dr. Thomas Pleger is presenting a lecture, “Introduction to Wisconsin Archaeology,” at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 5, in the Barlow Planetarium on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley. The lecture is free and open to the public. Seating is limited.
The Weis Earth Science Museum and the Fox Cities Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s “Leadership Fox Cities” program are jointly sponsoring the lecture.
This presentation examines the development of Native American cultures from the end of the last Ice Age to the arrival of Europeans. A special exhibit highlighting recent archaeological work conducted in northeast Wisconsin will be on display in the Curler Science Gallery, located outside the Barlow Planetarium.
