The University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley is hosting its next Scholars Series presentation on Monday, March 7, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Perry Hall. The guest speaker is Neil Anderson, director of the Northeast Wisconsin (NEW) Zoo.
In discussing his presentation, Anderson said, “Like all businesses, the zoo must plan for immediate success as well as continued success. One of the key indicators I like to think in terms of does the zoo pass the ‘fitness test’ for the community that it resides in.” Anderson feels that, “In other words a ‘fit zoo’ is truly a reflection of the community.”
Anderson’s topic will include the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) Accreditation, master planning, budgeting, conservation initiatives, key indicators as well as a recent new policy initiative called, “Building a Sustainable Zoo.”
Anderson’s presentation explores how the NEW Zoo continues to “stay fit” and remain a wonderful reflection of the community that can be secured for generations to come.
The Scholars Series is free and open to the public, with unreserved seating. For more information about the Scholars Series and this presentation, contact the UWFox Office of University Relations, 920-832-2611, email email@example.com, or visit www.uwfox.uwc.edu.
