Menasha, WI – The 2009-2010 University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley intercollegiate athletic program will see new faces taking the reins as coaches for two of the Cyclones teams. Athletic Director Pam Massey recently announced that Wil Krautkramer will be the coach of the campus soccer team and Lee Rabas will be the coach of the men’s basketball team.
At Menasha HS, Krautkramer competed in the Fox Valley Association Conference and was a three year varsity letter winner. As a senior he garnered First-Team All-Conference honors as an outside midfielder, as the Blue Jays earned their first conference championship that same year.
Krautkramer, still a resident of Menasha, attended UWFox where he also played soccer, eventually transferring to UW Oshkosh, where he earned his B.S., graduating Magna Cum Laude. He is currently a 6th grade teacher at Maplewood Middle School in Menasha.
His 20 years of playing experience at levels ranging from U-8 to college are combined with over 10 years of coaching experience at levels ranging from U-8 to U-23 (D-1 players). Krautkramer has also coached freshman soccer for Appleton East HS, JV soccer at Appleton West HS, and varsity soccer for Menasha HS, where he continues to coach. He has also created a summer soccer program, through the Menasha Joint School District, that teaches the soccer fundamentals to elementary and middle school children.
Appleton resident Rabas has an extensive background coaching men’s basketball. He has been an assistant coach at Lawrence University (1997-2009), head coach at Xavier HS (1997-2004), assistant coach at Neenah HS (1996-1997), assistant coach at UW-La Crosse (1994-1996), assistant coach at Logan HS (La Crosse, 1991-1994), and assistant coach at Acquinas HS (La Crosse, 1990-1991).
In addition, Rabas has been a camp coach or director at nearly 20 basketball camps throughout the Midwest. He is a member of the National Association of Basketball Coaches and the Wisconsin Basketball Coaches Association.
He earned his B.S. and M.S. from UW-La Crosse and is presently a full-time elementary physical education instructor for the Neenah Joint School District.
