Fox Valley Concert Band Offers Fall Concert at UWFox

The Fox Valley Concert Band (FVCB) presents its annual Fall Concert, as well as its opening performance for the 2010-2011 season, on Friday, October 22, at 7:30 p.m. in the James W. Perry Hall on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley.
The program provides a range of musical selections that the audience is sure to enjoy.
Included in the FVCB’s Fall Concert program are “Poet and Peasant Overture” (Franz von Suppe’, translated by Henry Fillmore), “La Virgen de la Macarena” (a traditional number arranged by Charles Koff) and featuring Robert Cheal on trumpet, “Colonial Song” (by Percy Grainger), and “Dance of the Witches” (by John Williams, as arranged by Paul Lavender).
The second half of concert features the three-part, “Symphonic Song for Band” (by Robert Russell Bennett) and the “Strategic Air Command March” (by Clifton Williams).
The Fox Valley Concert Band, composed of university students, alumni and Fox Valley residents, is directed by Dr. Marc Sackman, conductor and associate professor of music at UWFox.
