Black History Month Celebration

Ms. Yvette Dunlap, Associate Principal at Kaukauna High School, is the featured keynote speaker at the University of Wisconsin - Fox Valley this Saturday, February 26. Her presentation, and other event-related activity, is scheduled to take place in the UWFox Student Union from 2:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.
Ms. Dunlap is a Life Member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), a Member of the Governor's Council for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and a Member of the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
In addition to Ms. Dunlap's address, there will also be a dance presentation, an African drum recital, singing by the Horizons Elementary School Choir, and poetic selections by various community leaders.
The day's celebration of Black History Month is organized by African Heritage, Inc., of Appleton. Support for the event is provided by the Appleton Area School District, the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley, and the University of Wisconsin -
Fox Valley. Additional support is provided by a variety of individuals, businesses and organizations, who will be recognized at the event.
The University of Wisconsin - Fox Valley is located at 1478 Midway Road, Menasha, between S. Oneida St. on the east, S. Appleton Road on the west, and jus t south of Hwy. #441. There is plenty of free parking on the west side of the campus. The Student Union is located in the center of the campus building.
