Northeast Wisconsin's finest planetarium, the Barlow Planetarium located on the campus of the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley, is hosting a "Family Astronomy Night" on Saturday, October 27, beginning at 6:00 p.m. "Family Astronomy Night" features three different planetarium shows in the Barlow, as well as opportunities for viewing the night sky through telescopes provided by the Barlow Planetarium staff.
The Barlow staff will be presenting three entertaining and exciting shows in the planetarium. At 6:00 p.m., "Moon Witch" is scheduled to be shown. At 7:00 p.m., “Space Storm” is the featured presentation. The final show of the evening is, "Wisconsin Skies." According to Alan Peche, director of the Barlow, "Since all shows aren’t age appropriate for all visitors, each if the shows is priced separately. For visitors to the Barlow who are interested in seeing all three shows there are multiple show discounts available at the planetarium box office."
In addition to the planetarium shows, the Barlow staff will be showcasing telescopes on the campus' grounds outside the planetarium, so that visitors can see the real stars and planets in the evening sky that night, weather permitting. Night sky viewing will likely start after sunset at 7:40 p.m.
