Eight students from the University of Wisconsin-Fox Valley have been chosen to participate in “The All-State Collegiate Choir. The UWFox students and the other choir members are scheduled to perform at the Wisconsin Choir Directors Association on Friday, January 14, from 11:35 a.m. to 12:00 noon at the First United Methodist Church in Appleton.
UWFox students (and their hometowns) include Tim Ehmen (Appleton), Sam Markert (Winnecone), Stacy Olk (Shiocton), Amanda Peterson (Neenah), Molly Srnka (Waupaca), Sarah Tomack (De Pere), Nate Wendt (Weyauwega), and Kou Xiong (New London). The students’ choir director and voice coach at the Menasha campus is Linda Feldmann ((Associate Lecture of Music and Choir Director).
The WCDA All-State Choir consists of men and women representing four-year and two-year colleges and universities in Wisconsin, according to WCDA sources. Choir members are nominated by their respective choral directors and ultimately selected for the All-State Collegiate Choir by a WCDA committee.
“Our students will be part of a 115 voice choir composed of the
best and brightest singers from colleges all over the state,” Feldmann
said. “It will be a great experience for them and also great recognition
for the UWFox music program.”
