UWFox will host its spring 2014 commencement ceremony on Wednesday, May 21 at 7 p.m. in the UWFox Fieldhouse, accompanied by the music of the Fox Valley Concert Band.

Martin Rudd, Ph.D., campus executive officer/dean, and Carla Rabe, M.S.E., assistant campus dean for student affairs, will present graduates with their University of Wisconsin Colleges Associate of Arts and Sciences (AAS) degrees. Mittie Den Herder, Ph.D., provost at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville, and Ranen McLanahan, Ph.D., assistant professor of engineering at UWFox, will present students of the UW-Platteville Fox Valley Collaborative Engineering Program with their UW-Platteville bachelor’s degrees in mechanical and John Craghanelectrical engineering.

“As our UWFox students move onward to continue their educations or into the workforce, I am thankful that the Fox Valley supports the education that makes our local economy thrive,” said Rudd. “I congratulate our diverse array of students who have realized the benefit of starting, or continuing, their education at their local University of Wisconsin campus.”

John F. Craghan, Ph.D., a former associate editor for Biblical Theology Bulletin, ongoing North American editor for Scripture in Church and professor emeritus of religious studies at St. Norbert College, will serve as the commencement speaker. In addition to the presentation of degrees, awards will be announced for Teacher of the Year and Staff Member of the Year. Todd Wenzel, a returning adult student who has been active in the campus and local community, will be presented with the 2014 Student of the Year award.

The ceremony will be immediately followed by a reception in the Thrivent Financial Lobby of the Communication Arts Center; the UWFox Spring Semester Student Art Exhibit will also be on display in the adjacent Aylward Gallery. Commencement photos, sponsored by the Campus Activity Board, will be available on the UWFox Facebook page. The event will be live-streamed at https://new.livestream.com/uwfox/events/2942317.
