Background before UWFox

Graduated from Neenah HS in 2002.

Why did you choose UWFox?

“I started taking classes at UWFox when my daughter Lluvia was three months old. I live(d) in Menasha and was very impressed with the University Children’s Center, located on campus. I honestly didn’t apply to any other campus. I had been out of high school for nearly five years. I found the flexibility of night classes and the other adult student offerings to be very welcoming.”

Have you chosen a major

“I will be transferring to Lawrence University in the fall semester 2009 so that I can focus my education on government and environmental studies.”

What are you learning that you find interesting and rewarding at UWFox?

“I love to see the links between the various disciplines. Often the same topic will be discussed in multiple classes and will be addressed from different perspectives. The inter-connected nature of both the knowledge and the problems of the world blows my mind on a regular basis.”

Other interesting things you’d like to share?

“The opportunity for involvement in clubs and campus activities at UWFox is endless. The sense of campus community is very warm and inviting.  With the small classes you can actually learn the names of your classmates (and the professors learn your name too!). The UW-Fox Valley Foundation works tirelessly to provide over $100,000 annually in student scholarships. As students we only need to apply once per year to be considered for all of the scholarships that we may be eligible for, which includes new, continuing, and departing students.”
