Age: 35

Hometown:  Green Bay, WI

Current residence:  Menasha, WI

When attended UWFox:

Spring 2010 - present

Background before UWFox:

I attended Pulaski High School and went on to earn my HSED in the Fall 2009.

I’ve been a waitress, corporate trainer, saleswoman and a restaurant manager. Right before starting my college education at UWFox, I was a hydro-blaster for Mid Valley Industrial.  I recently went to New York City with my boyfriend Josh to celebrate New Year’s 2010. That was the most amazing trip ever!

Why did you choose UWFox?

I wanted to obtain my associate degree before going on to a four-year campus. I’ve had to deal with several personal challenges before I could attend college, including the necessity of attaining my high school diploma.  I heard great things about UW Fox and I wanted to stay in the Fox Valley before moving on to a four-year campus.

Have you chosen a major?

I’m majoring in Psychology.

What are you learning that you find interesting and rewarding at UWFox?

I’m so lucky to be one of the Ambassadors to the campus.  My professors are helping me to react responsibly and professionally to all the challenges that go along with college. For me, being an adult student has simultaneously been a challenge and a blessing.

What are your career plans after UWFox?

I plan on attending UW-Green Bay to attain my bachelor and master degrees and then…who knows where for my Ph.D.  I would eventually like to work at a treatment facility where I can help women who are trying to recover from addiction.

Other interesting things about yourself that you’d like to share?

I love horses and music. The most important things in my life today are my relationship with God, my boyfriend and my family. I love to read, especially the Harry Potter books, the Bible and anything that will help me grow.  I recently started reading the Dalai Llama books.  The meditation practices have changed my life.
