Current residence: Neenah, WI
When attended UWFox: Fall 2010 - present
Background before UWFox
I attended Neenah High school for three years and was home schooled my senior year as I was able to graduate early, in January 2010. I worked at Dairy Queen in Neenah all through high school and still continue to do so. How is making ice cream with your friends not a fun job! At UWFox I work at the bookstore where everyday has something new to offer.
I took a cruise to a few Caribbean Islands when I was younger. What struck me the most during the cruise was when we were visiting the Islands we were pampered and taken care of, while on the other side of the fence the people were begging for food. That’s when I became interested in world outreach missions.
Why did you choose UWFox?
I came to UWFox for many reasons. I’m very close to my family members and I like the idea of staying close to them. I also liked the campus’ comparatively lower tuition. I had not been set on my college major and UWFox sounded like the right place to find out what I wanted to study in college.
Have you chosen a major?
My major is “Missions,” though I can’t actually declare that major at UWFox I’m able to take a wide variety of classes during my first two years that will transfer to a related four-year college bachelor’s degree program.
What are you learning that you find interesting and rewarding at UWFox?
What I find interesting about UWFox is all the support that the university gives to the students to help them succeed, like everything from the writing lab to the instructors and professors willing to meet with you. A smaller campus like UWFox makes it not so overwhelming to get help if you need it.
What are your career plans after UWFox?
After UWFox I plan to continue my Mission degree at a Bible college. Though I’m unsure of which one, I know that what ever one I go to I’ll be blessed. After receiving my degree I plan to use what I have learned to better the world. Whether that be helping right here in the Fox Valley or in a foreign country, I know that my faith will set the path I’m supposed to take and guide my steps in that direction. My heart is really drawn toward helping others and bettering the world.
