When attended UWFox: Fall 2007 to Fall 2009

Background before UWFox:

“I graduated from Stockbridge HS in June, 2007 and I’ve been a cake decorator at Dairy Queen in Chilton.”

Why did you choose UWFox?

“I enrolled at UWFox mainly because it has a reputation as good place to go to college. I had heard good things from graduates and friends who attend the campus. I especially like the smaller class sizes that UWFox offers, and I wanted to stay close to home when I went to college.”

Have you chosen a major?

“I’m majoring in Medical Microbiology and Virology.”

What are you learning that you find interesting and rewarding?

“I love the science department and earned 25 science credits here. I love every aspect of going to college at UWFox. The professors are great. They expect a lot out of you, and they expect you to be in class.  This gives you something to measure yourself with as a student. The professors genuinely care for you as a student and they offer lots of 1:1 time to meet with them. It seems that all professors know you by name!

“I’ve been involved in stream monitoring in environmental (science) courses at UWFox for five semesters. I also attended the ‘Posters in Rotunda’ program at the Wisconsin State Capitol in Madison last spring where I presented my research to state legislators, UW System officials, and the media in attendance.”

What are your career plans after graduation from UWFox

“I’ll earn my Associate of Arts and Science Degree in December 2009 and then I’ll be transferring to UW-Madison for the Spring 2010 semester. I’ll receive the Certificate in Environmental Studies after taking one of the courses there, and then eventually go on to earn my B.S. from UW-Madison.”

Other

“I have a large family, with six brothers and sisters that range in age from 3 years old through 12 years of age. I was a UWFox campus Ambassador for the 2008-2009 academic year and am a member of UWFox’s Zeta Delta chapter of Sigma Kappa Delta, the National English Honor Society.”
