Background before UWFox

A graduate of New London High School who enrolled in college-level English at UWFox in summer 2007, Knuth continues to work 20 hours a week at Gardan, a Hortonville packaging and assembly firm, while attending UWFox. She plays French Horn with the Fox Valley Concert Band, the Horns of Plenty in the City Center Plaza and the Fox Valley Symphony.

Why UWFox?

“It’s not that far away from home and it works really well with my work schedule.” In addition to her job at Gardan, Knuth also works as a professor’s assistant for ten hours per week at UWFox.

Her chosen major and plans after graduation from UWFox

Knuth will earn a biology or zoology undergraduate degree at UW-Green Bay or UW-Stevens Point after completing her general coursework at UWFox. She plans to go on to earn a graduate pharmacy degree at UW-Madison.  “I got interested in pharmacy when my grandfather was sick, and I realized that it took a team to deliver his care – a nurse, doctor and pharmacist all working together.”

What do you find interesting and rewarding at UWFox?

“It’s easy to use your time wisely at UWFox. You can study a whole lot more here. You can pick the time and professors that you need. It also helps a lot that professors here are on a personal level, they answer your emails, and it’s easy to contact them.”
