History Lecturer

Position and Campus Overview

UW-Fox Valley is looking for History lecturer for the fall 2008 semester.  This is an Instructional Academic Staff position.  The University of Wisconsin - Fox Valley is one of thirteen campuses that collectively make up the University of Wisconsin Colleges.  The UW Colleges is the part of the University of Wisconsin system that delivers freshman - sophomore courses for student seeking an associates degree or a foundation for a bachelor's degree.  Fall contract starts August 26.  Teaching excellence is required.

Teaching Responsibilities

Fall 2008:
  • HIS 161 World History to 1500, MWF 8-8:50 a.m.
  • Plus office hours for students
Course description 

HIS 161 World History to 1500, A topical approach to the history of premodern humankind. Special attention will be given to the emergence, development and interaction of civilizations in Asia, Africa, Europe and the Americas. 3 credits.

Qualifications

Minimum Master's Degree in discipline or related field required.  

Salary

Salary:  If hired to teach at the rank of Lecturer, $3,411 using the 2008-09 compensation schedule.  Actual salary is dependent upon rank and total teaching load throughout UW Colleges.
