Each year the Barlow Planetarium celebrates Astronomy Day by offering our field trip programs to the general public at the same field trip prices schools enjoy. Approximately 25,000 school children visit the Barlow each school year. Our Place in Space is designed for early elementary students and addresses the earliest science questions that students about their world: What causes day and night? How does the Moon change shape? What causes the seasons to change? Each program ends with a tour of the constellations, stars and planets that are in the current nighttime sky.
