Space is limited; early registration is advised. We make every effort to give Cadets their first choice of sessions, which are filled on first-come, first served basis.
In Wisconsin Space Academy Level One, activities include:
- Hands-On Activities
- Build and launch a model rocket
- Practice using star maps
- Construct and use an astrolabe (a device that measures
altitude)

- Planetarium Activities
- Learn to identify planets, bright stars and
constellations
- Understand apparent motion of the Sun, planets and
stars
- Cadets create their own show to be presented on Family
Night (Topic: Exploring the Night Sky)

- Classroom Activities
- Basic rocketry, including safe launch and recovery
procedures
- Learn the basic principles of physics related to model
rockets
- Measure rocket altitudes

- Telescope Observing
- Conduct safe daytime observations of sunspots

- Family Night

Thursday night of each Wisconsin Space Academy session
- Cadets present their own show in the Barlow
Planetarium
- Cadets fly their rockets (weather permitting)
