The Cyclones are looking to use their mix of experienced returners and athletic newcomers to rebound to the top of the WJCAA Conference.
“I’m very excited for this season, not only about our returnees, but our newcomers as well, because they are one of the more experienced freshmen classes we have had in the past couple of years,” coach Tracy Natz said. “Between their athleticism and experience, they will definitely help to fill the holes in the lineup.”
This year’s team will be returning four players: Andrea Milis (KimberlyHS), Julia Hotovec (Oshkosh Lourdes), Andrea Ward (Ashwaubenon), and Christina Stevens (Oshkosh North). The Cyclones welcome Ashley Secor (Kauakauna), Maribeth Schneider (Waupaca), Linday Mulholland (Hortonville), Kristie Krejcarek (Hortonville), and Lanette Schmidt (Neenah) to the team.
“A major goal for the season is keeping the ball in play. Great teams are able to keep the ball alive. If they can do that, they can go as far as the team wants to go. We have to keep our heads up if we struggle early," Natz said. "It’s not how you begin the season; it’s how you finish it."
