Head Soccer Coach

Head soccer coach, Lance Gordon, brings almost 30 years experience as a coach and player to the UW-Fox Valley Soccer Program. Lance recently moved to the area from Mount Horeb, south of Madison. He was scouted and became a member of one of the two original teams of the Yahara Soccer Club, in Middleton. Lance later played and coached for United States Marine Corps teams in various locations across the globe, including Japan, Spain, Greece, and Italy. Lance also has also played soccer in Brazil. Lance has adopted the soccer ideals learned from playing against teams from around the world and infused them into his system of play, involving limited touches, crisp passing, and highly disciplined soccer technical and tactical fundamentals.
Lance graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a B.A. in History and History of Science. He is currently working towards his teaching certificate and Masters Degree. Lance has a National “C” License from the United States Soccer Federation and Certificates from the NSCAA for Goalkeeper Training. Lance, and his wife Cristina have three kids, Alex, Miranda, and Cameron, and live in the Appleton area.
