ESPN is one of the sports industry's powerhouses, and its website is correspondingly comprehensive, packed with news as soon as it happens. Major and college sports are well represented here; the NFL, NBA, NHL, golf, major league baseball, auto racing, college football and basketball, soccer and tennis, to name just a few. Less visible sports are covered too: minor league baseball and hockey, extreme sports and Canadian football, for example. There are standings, statistics, features, columns, special sections, broadcast listings, and much more.

This clearinghouse for physical education information is geared toward educators and professionals. There's an event calendar, sports and fitness resources in the form of books, videos and other products, and more. Physician and Sports medicine is a clinical sports medicine journal, and you can get the current issue's cover story at this site, as well as access to past issues dating from 1996. There's an index for all issues, as well as a search feature. Elsewhere on the site are personal health articles for a variety of topics (allergies, nutrition, women's health) as well as directories and links to other Web resources.
The site's creator, a professor at San Diego State, writes, "These abstracts interpret research articles for practicing coaches and others interested in applied sport science."
